I believe I can fly

You guys probably had heard of this song, right? This song was sang by R Kelly. I chose this song because I'm an airplane fanatic and would like to be a pilot of an airplane, and because I would achieve my dreams.

This is a picture of one of my favorite airplanes: The P-51 Mustang. Behold its beauty!

You raise me up

Some of you probably had heard this song before, maybe by Westlife. This song was written by Brendan Graham. I chose this song since I'm a Christian, and God raise me up and my family up, although this song wasn't intended to be a religious song. My parents, from having white hands with nothing on them, to now capable of paying enough for I to go this school, is thanks to God. Also, technology get more and more advanced, and will never be static, so technology had literally raise me up, so airplanes had raised me up, along with a car powerful enough to take my family to mountains.

Waltzing Matilda

Does this sounds like a familiar song to you? Waltzing Matilda? If not, then let me give you a very brief introduction of the song. The words of this song was written by the Australian poet Banjo Paterson in 1895, and the music was by Christina Macpherson. It was referred to as "the unofficial national anthem of Australia". Its lyrics doesn't say patriotic things like "be proud of your country" or "Ohh say can you see". Instead, it talks about a hobo. I chose this song since I would like to live in the country side, and I feel pitiful for hobos.

Teach Your Children

Teach Your Children, by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, is a song about the love of parents and children to each other. Do not mistaken me for being a parent when I'm writing about this song! I chose this song since I love my parents and they love me. Sometimes, after some trip home in the evening, they would bought for me and my brother snacks, and gave us a lot of lucky money! So I love my parents, and responded to their love by taking whatever they gave to me, and sometimes hugging them.

No Man's Land by Eric Bogle

No Man's Land, a song by Eric Bogle, is a song about a soldier in WWI named Willie McBride, who died in 1916 when he was 19. It was not certain which soldier named Willie McBride was actually mentioned in the song. I chose this song since it is an antiwar song, and I hate wars, especially WWI, as for the last lyrics of the song, which said that all of the killings were done in vain.

And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda, not a very popular song, written by Eric Bogle, but I hate wars, especially WWI, so I chose it anyway. Not just that I hate wars, I also chose this song since I love the song Waltzing Matilda, and this song contains a part of Waltzing Matilda in the end.

Việt Nam Quê Hương Ngạo Nghễ (Vietnam, arrogant home)

Okay, so as you guys can see, I put a Vietnamese song in here. It's not the national anthem of Vietnam. Nonetheless, it could be the national anthem of Vietnam, and I would call it "the unofficial national anthem of Vietnam". That's just what I perceived the song as, so don't sue me in court! Seriously! Not kidding! I chose this song since I love Vietnam, I hate the countries that tried to conquer Vietnam (The US wasn't trying to conquer Vietnam! It was trying to protect Southern Vietnam, which is a country), and I'm willing to fight for Vietnam if I have to. Seriously! I will! But that depends on which side is good.

Now here's a video of the song. The part on the right that says "Bọn Cộng sản Việt gian..." starting around 0:09 is saying "The communists traitors of Vietnam: COWERED AT THE SITE OF THE ENEMY - CRUEL TO ITS OWN PEOPLE". Never mind about the part after the song finishes. Just listen to the song. That's cool, right?
Now, here are the lyrics, along with a rough translation. Try to enjoy a bit of translation by the writer of this blog post, would you?

We're like water rising and never fall
The long road is just a big laughter
Dragging behind the feet are shackles of a long life
My eyes are bright with the rhythm of the shackles
I'm brandishing my shackles in front of everybody
The smile of life isn't a fresh smile
The smile is far from the smile of rage
Our steps flood forward and we're flinging the shackles into the face of humanity

Chorus:

Our blood from Van Lang castle gather up
These blood, flesh, and bones are from father trying hard to make them
Every day that passed, laughing arrogantly in ascruciating pain
We formed a group of proud people
On tables full of spikes, singing and laughing out loud
And Vietnam, millions of hearts still have millions of glorious minds

We're like a race of people walking on a red-hot oven
Faces cold as copper/bronze looking into something distant
Lots of skin flooded with sweat are wrapping our raw tendons
Holding our wounds filled with blood, we're laughing under the sun
We advised our children and grandchildren we're continuing being humans
A person who wants to be a glorious human must be a Vietnamese.
A person that is equivalent to the faces of humanity
Hey people who had fell down, stand up and mightily walk away!

Wavin' Flag (Celebration Mix)

You guys might have heard this song in the World Cup 2010. This song, sang by K'naan, was a remixed version of the original song, and was used by Coca Cola as its 2010 World Cup promotional anthem. This song was also played at events for the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour. A good song, eh? I chose this song since I love the US and Vietnam, yes, I'm proud being a Vietnamese, I would like to travel to other nations and check them out, and of course, I will be stronger when I'm older. Everybody gets stronger when they're older, right?

T.H.E. (The hardest ever)

Ah, T.H.E. (the hardest ever), a pretty good song, it is. I fell in love with this song, a song by will.i.am, Mick Jagger, and Jennifer Lopez, when I first heard it. I chose this song for the soundtrack of my life since in the music video, it shows will.i.am flying an F-22 Raptor, one of my favorite airplanes. I also chose this song since I would like to challenge myself, since I love challenges.
